After the autumn vacation last week and the boys were at home for a week, this week is alot quieter in the house. Time again to get started, because during the holiday I didn’t do much quilting. The first thing I need to do is working on the Mystery Quilt. There are already two envelopes with fabric waiting for me and that means I'm behind schedule. Although ... I already have 5 blocks quilted. Block 7, I have finished already:

Only the little snowman doesn’t have arms yet… I have to embroider those.

The house in the street in fall is also looking a bit more cosy:

Sunday, October 16 DH and I went to the Crafts Fair in Vijfhuizen. I was lucky, because I won a ticket for this fair at the blog Jookies! Of course I visited the stand of Joke to thank her personally for the ticket and her stand looked great again... totally my style! Also I was very happy ... they sold that beautiful embroidery binding:

On the blog of Marijke I have seen many beautiful pieces of work where she used this lovely binding! Of course I bought 1 meter of this binding. “Just one meter???” Yes, stupid huh? Ah well… now I have a very good excuse to go to the fair next time!

And what do you think?? Remember in the previous post I told you that DS1 had ordered a book which still wasn’t delivered? Yessss ... you guessed it already. Last week I suddenly heard a thud in the hallway at the front door and I had a hunch. And yes, a package of bookdepository! That afternoon was sooo long! I really wanted to open the package, because I was very curious what book he had chosen! Finally at a quarter past six in the evening he came home from work and I did not have to wait any longer. And this is what came out:

Awesome huh? I am obviously very happy! Only I told myself I can’t start with it yet... first I need to finish the MQ. I also have the Scandinavian Christmas still in progress (well ... in progress, it is lying there haha) and I am working on the cross-stitch pattern of the houses in the fall. But I don’t need to finish everything, only the MQ and then I can start the Farmer’s Wife. In the meantime I can start thinking about which colors I’m going to use.

fijne dag! have a nice day!

Already a long time I looked forward to... the Patchwork and Quilt Days in Vijfhuizen! Yesterday was the big day and with a few blocks from Dorothy in the bag and my camera ready, Ton and I drove to Vijfhuizen.

Well, I had no idea what I could expect, because this was the first time I went for something like this, but I was very excited! Of course I knew that at least I would have the chance to admire her quilts in real life and that in itself was worth a ride. Also I had heared she would be there too and it’s always nice to browse through her cosy stuff. But now I just keep my mouth shut and let you enjoy the beautiful things I've seen!

Gelijk bij binnenkomst kwam ik deze tegen:

Immediately after entering, I came to this:

On the left there was Bep and she had a lovely stand, look:

What a lóvely things don’t you think? I adore the old colors she always uses!!

After some chatting with Bep, we walked along... How about this? Look so nice in the next two quilts are separate elements. A couple of clotheslines with very tiny quilts:

Suddenly I ran into a well-known quilt that you probably also know ... the housesquilt Supergoof made for her daughter. Well, in real life he was even better than on her blog, I can tell you!

And also her other gorgeous quilts like these…

And finally I found Goof itself. Ingrid sat in front of her Pockets of Posies surrounded by a number of fans. Of course I went there to meet her and I found it very nice to see her in real life sometime. Look, here she is ...

Now I can’t show you everything, because this post would take three pages I think hahaha. But just 3 more beautiful qults ...

You surely understand that I have enjoyed my day! And I'm also succeeded very well in finding the backing for my Dorothy, but more on that in a next post. I also bought the filling, Hobbs 80-20 as you all recommend hihi. So now I am really in a hurry to finish the top, you can imagine that!

fijne dag vandaag! have a nice day!
