leuke award

4. Wat is je favoriete film? the Holiday, Avatar en Lord of the Rings

fijne dag iedereen!!

verdeling

Yesterday I got this nice award from Margreet and I think it’s a nice one, thank you Margreet.

And as you all know by now, when getting an award usually a number of rules are comming with it and these are the rules this time. Pass the award on to 5 bloggers with less than 100 followers, including their names with link to their blog and finally answer the 5 questions below. And because of these questions I think this award is something different, look:

1. Why did you start blogging? Last January I was looking on the internet and as usual I got from one site to another and eventually I cam across someone's blog (no idea who). The concept of blogging I did not know, but when I had looked at a number of blogs, I was very excited. How nice to share your interests in this way with a lot of other people with the same interests. And what an inspiration I did through all those lovely blogs! The decision was quickly taken!

2. Which blogs you follow? On my other blog in the beginning mainly of people who make cards, then there were a lot of blogs about home decorating, but through this blog I follow mainly the quilt blogs and other craft blogs.

3. What is your favorite color? Well that depends... actually my favorite color is blue and especially the grizzled old blue or light ice blue. But in my house I like natural colors like my taupe-colored walls and white I find very beautiful. In the garden, I also tend to blue flowers, because I think they match beautiful with greyish stuff like old flowerpots or zinc, but also pink flowers may come and live in my garden though. :-)

4. What is your favorite movie? the Holiday, Avatar and Lord of the Rings

5. What country would you still like to visit? That is actually still a lot. England, Scotland and Ireland are high on my list, but I'd love to see places like Borneo or Peru sometime ... countries where nature is so beautiful and overwhelming. Or Japan, China, New Zealand, Tibet ... hahaha still lots of wishes.

I give this award on to:

petra, Nadine, Ria, Ciska, Marion

Have fun, but don't feel obliged to place this award on your blog!

have a nice day everyone!!

What a lovely weather yesterday wasn’t it? Did you also enjoyed it so? After all the good predictions I was at first a bit disappointed at the beginning of the afternoon... the wind was still quite fresh. But later in the afternoon we were able to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine.

After all your kind responses to my previous post, for which I want to thank you all so much, I plucked up courage and I went to get fabric to get started with 'Spirit of Winter ". My mother once received a shoebox full with embroidery thread from someone and I first took a look in that box to see what colors I could use. The pattern has almost 90 different colors, so that’s a lot, but in mom's box I found about 60 colors that I need. Lets hope that these are the right colors, because the yarn is all wound on cardboard where the numbers are credited.

The missing color numbers I have bought and I've started. The crossstitches are very tiny and in the small piece I've been stitching, you find already 5 different colors . Not that it can also be seen, because the colors are so close together! So it is quite difficult to see where you left off ... but it will turn out ok!

Nou, gelijk meegenomen natuurlijk hahaha.

With Dorothy I'm now working on the last border of the quilt and then I can go about putting the binding. Now I have no clue how to do something like that, so therefore I think I'll browse on youtube or something. There is surely something to find there. Or maybe there is something about it in the book: 300 quilting tips & techniques by Susan Briscoe. A while ago I read that Margreet thought this book was so good and quite by accident (there you have the word 'coincidence' again) I came across that book the same week and I bought it right away hahaha.

Because the spring has now arrived, it was really about time to take away the little Christmas quilt that I was making on the last day that my mother and I were together. Next year I will again take it out and hopefully the memories that will come up won’t hurt as much anymore. But for now I store it carefully and I made a new small springquilt. On the blog of Marian I had seen a cute pattern (thank you very much Marian for this cute pattern) and I liked the idea. She makes the most beautiful things all in my taste and often she puts the pattern on her blog so it's worthwhile to have a look at her blog.

Kijk… zo is het geworden:

Look… this is the result:

On this picture the bottom of the quilt looks a bit crooked, but in real it doesn’t! I think it turned out very nice and it looks also very cosy. ;-)) I'm curious what you think! Now I am going to make myself a cup of coffee and then going to make a few embroidery stitches... such tiny crossstiches succeeds best when I have enough natural light.

fijne dag allemaal! have a nice day you all!
